The Need Is Real

Too many kids never
get this education.

Financial literacy is rarely taught in the classroom — and almost never to the kids who need it most.

Children from low-income households miss out on early money skills that build the foundation for financial independence, stability, and success.

Without it, they're far more likely to grow into adults who struggle with debt, poor credit, and limited financial options. We're on a mission to change that.

Finance Funatics Cares, Inc. is the nonprofit arm of Finance Funatics. We exist to remove the financial barrier that keeps underserved youth from accessing high-quality financial literacy education.

Meet Our Founder

Every child deserves the opportunity to build a financially successful future.

For more than two decades, Delainna Burton has dedicated her career to helping individuals, families and communities make smarter financial decisions. As a retired financial advisor, business executive, and financial educator, she has witnessed firsthand how a lack of financial knowledge can limit opportunities, create unnecessary hardship, and prevent families from building lasting wealth.

But while helping adults improve their finances, one question continued to surface:

Why are we waiting until adulthood to teach the skills that shape a lifetime of financial success?

That question became personal.

As a mother, Delainna made it her mission to teach her own children, Julia and Kevin, the money lessons that are rarely taught in school—how to earn, save, spend wisely, give, protect what they have, and build wealth with confidence. Watching them understand and apply these concepts reinforced what she had always believed:

Children are capable of learning about money when it's taught in the right way.

Inspired by that experience, Delainna created Path to Financial Success—a comprehensive financial education system designed to help children develop real-world money skills from early childhood through their teenage years. Rather than treating financial literacy as a single lesson or short course, Path to Financial Success provides age-appropriate learning experiences that grow with children, giving them the knowledge, habits, and confidence to make smart financial decisions throughout life.

Her passion for youth financial education also led her to author the What Every Grad Should Know About Money book series, with editions created specifically for kindergarten, elementary, middle school, and high school students. Each book was written to meet children where they are, making complex financial concepts engaging, practical, and easy to understand.

Delainna’s passion for financial education is supported by a strong foundation in finance and business. She holds an MBA from Babson College and a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Wayne State University. She has also completed additional financial and risk management education through the Boston Institute of Finance and Harvard University.

But Delainna believes financial education should never depend on a family's income.

That's why she founded Finance Funatics Cares, Inc.

The nonprofit exists for one simple but powerful purpose: to eliminate financial barriers so underserved children have access to the money knowledge they need to build brighter futures. Through scholarships, community partnerships, and donor support, Finance Funatics Cares helps ensure that every child—not just a fortunate few—has the opportunity to learn the skills that lead to financial independence, confidence, and lifelong success.

Today, Julia and Kevin have joined their mother's mission, helping teach children about money and inspiring the next generation to dream bigger, make smarter financial decisions, and believe that financial success is within their reach.
